how do you organize your digital stash?

As for me, I use Picasa, which is free and brought to you by the super power, Google. I upload all of my pictures into Picasa as well but find my folder name is usually descriptive enough for photos but my digital stash--I tag with keywords. Picasa allows you to create your own keywords so I use things that make sense for me, and are helpful when creating a page. Things like: fall, red, ribbon, stitching. Here is a screen capture of my picasa account when I searched by the word fall (which you can see across the top).

Here you can see things better. What came up is a folder containing a kit by Leora at Little Dreamer, next there is a line of buttons, and under that is where you can type in your keyword. This kit is tagged with the word fall, but also ld (my shorthand for Little Dreamer), ribbon and tag.

Another recent system I developed was to begin identifying how many photos my templates and quickpages can accommodate. This has helped to speed my scrapping tremendously. Below is a zoom on a search I did for "3photo" again, my shorthand for templates with 3 photos.

Designer's Corner

Hey friends!! I'm so excited to bring you my version of the Designer's Corner!! Yes, I am a designer. But first I am a scrapper. I started digi scrapping 2 1/2 years ago, when things in the digi world were just getting started. It has been so fun to see how far everything has come! Even though I design, I still love to scrapbook. That is my ultimate creative release. There's nothing like taking stuff from so many places and designers and putting it together to create a piece of art! The reasons I scrapbook are mainly for my kids. Besides it letting me be creative, I get to record the everyday moments for my children to remember. That is what is most important to me! So I've done just that here. I've done a layout for my daughter Bryleigh. Her favorite thing that she is attached to is a stuffed animal named Ellie. Even when she is grown, I always want her to remember her little best friend.

So my challenge to you is to capture those little moments that make life memorable! Find something everyday that you want to record, and scrap about it!!

What the bleep!?!?

So, we tell you we're having a sale, and not only do you break us but you break paypal too? lol. Paypal is having some difficulties today, and has has periods of no service. Top that off with some minor server issues and what do you get? A typical sale at Little Dreamer, lol! The store is open, and we are accepting orders. If paypal is running then you will be able to complete your order, but your links may not arrive immediately. Don't worry, they will get there eventually. For some reason there is about a 10-20 minute delay between your order time and when it actually processes. Please allow at least 60 minutes after placing your order before contacting us. (Not that we don't LOVE to hear from you guys, but there's a 99% chance that your order will slowly pop out, so try that first) If in one hour after you place your order you still have not gotten your links, please let us know. Thank you for dealing with our quirkiness, and good luck in the raffle!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! I wanted to show you my last new thing that I added for the sale! Special thanks to Dagmar for giving me the idea, (duh! why didn't I think of that?) introducing Little Orphan Girl!

Time to scrap..

Yep. We are officially down for the next few days while we are moving servers :) We should be back online by Friday and ready to go for our big grand opening sale.

Taking this time down to do a little scrapping, and finish up a new collection I have been working on. I know that Jackie and Lori both have some new goodies too, and I will try and persuade them to give you a little sneak peak :)

My new collection is called Beautiful Journey, and it will be in the shoppe on Friday.

It's very painted, and distressed, and this blue paper is just one of my favorites :)

I created this layout to go in a new book I am creating for my daughters. It is going to be little mom-isms.. Some of my favorite quotes.. Things and topics that are important to me. Hoping that it will be heavy on the journaling, and that the finished product is something my girls can treasure forever. I am going to get it printed and bound, probably give shutterfly a go.. I will let you know how it goes! :)

What's up At LDD? :)

So.. Lori and I have been going through all the fabulous creative team applications today! WOW!! I cannot believe how many talented scrappers there are out there!!

We initially thought that we would have our team selected by tomorrow, but due to the sheer volume of applications we have received, we are going to need some more time to go over  them all ;)  So.. we will be contacting everyone who applied by Monday the 21st of May.  And I just have to say.. that this is going to be difficult narrowing it down to a manageable number ;) **IS 45 Manageable??**  :)

So stay tuned on Monday for our creative team announcement.

Also. We finally have a date set for our Grand Opening Celebrations! :)
We have decided to move our server to a different host that will better handle all of our traffic. And we will have everything in place by June 1st.

And Let me tell you. You Are NOT going to want to miss this!! We'll have fabulous prizes, challenges, of course a ROCKIN' Sale! And we will be making a HUGE announcement ;) OOOHH.. I can hardly WAIT!! :)

So thank you for your patience as we work out all the new-site kinks.. We promise to reward you greatly! :)

When it rains, it pours..

I am sitting here on hold with the server company. Yes. We are down.

We restart the server, and it immediately goes down again..
It's nice being so popular ;)

I am finding out (just this morning) that of memory we ordered only half was installed. (Beautiful!)

So, what would have worked well, isn't there to work at all..

SOO. Looks like we are going to have to reschedule our Grand Opening Event :)

This will, however, give Lori and I more time to get even more new goodies in the shoppe ;)

We have NO idea when this will be resolved, but we will certainly keep you all updated :)

We  truly wish we could continue on with our festivities, but it will just keep crashing our server. We hope you understand that these circumstances are outside of our control. We appreciate your support! :)

I might be stupid..

It is quite possible that I am the most stupid person in the world ;)
K. the server is down. And it's totally my fault.
I asked our server co to run a memory test. I meant to ask them to run this test at night.. But apparently, I asked them to run the test at 12PM. NOON.

Seriously??

So. Yes. We are down. Might be down for the rest of the day. And the only reason I can give is that I just wasn't paying attention to what I was doing! HA! That will teach me!

Soo.. the jury is still out, but it is quite possible that I WILL be named Most Stupid Person..
So Um.. Please tell me I am not alone here??  What silly mistakes have you made??
