Creative Use of LDD Products: Focus on expanding a kits theme

Hello and happy day to you!  For this week's challenge we wanted to challenge our dream girl's to use a themed kit for something other than it's theme - to expand the possibilities of creating a layout for a boy page with a girly kit, like in Rebecca's page below.

Creative Design: Focus on Scraplifting

The design of a layout doesn't need to be hard or reinvented each time you create a new one.  To get those pages done - how about scraplifting yourself for a little inspiration - an older page with new papers, photos, embellishments - gives an old design a fresh look.

Creative Photos: Focus on Storyboards

We all have a story to tell and a great way to do this is with storyboards.  If you have a series of photos that go together or there's a moment that you want to 'recreate' on the page - the storyboard is a great way to organize your photos.  Group your photos and write your story...it can be just a couple photos or more.  This also works great for a comic book style layout - add captions for a bit of fun.  We want to see what you come up with, too - be sure to ost your layout in our challenge gallery for a chance to win a gift certificate to our shoppe.

Creative Journaling: Focus on the New Year

Our challenge is to get creative with journaling - remember to write things down and what better time than the new year.

I always love the New Year and the excitement that it brings.  For some of us - it can be a new beginning, a time of change, or a continuation of something important to us.  That magical date of January 1st and it's meaning and feelings that it evokes gives us a chance to think about our lives and where we're going and where we've been.  We challenged some of our dreamgirl's to create layouts that focus on the New Year.  We hope they inspire you to get creative and celebrate the new year with a page about you.

Focus on Technique Challenge

Are you looking for techniques and ways to spruce up photos so they pop.  Check out Dreamgirl Carolee's layout below.  Carolee used brushes, actions, extraction, blending modes and lighting effects to help her photo stand out and emphasize her design on this busy background.

Michelle's Make it Pop Action can be subtle to intense:



Actions can be easy ways to make big changes to your photos.  Carolee used these actions with Michelle's Photo Alchemy Brush Set to enhance to outside edge of her photo for a beautiful effect amid the background paper.

Scrap An Element - Buttons Blog Challenge

Hi Everyone!  Hope your new year is going well so far!  I for one have eaten too many goodies and I'm still recovering.  ;)

We have a really cool Scrap An Element challenge for you today!  Everyone has buttons in their stash, but how often do we use lots of it in our layouts?  

For this challenge, I would like you to be imaginative and use buttons in your layouts in unexpected ways.  Perhaps to substitute for another round element?  Or to spell out your title?  Be creative and use buttons on your layouts!
