Focus On Color - Easter Colors

It's time, once again, for the Focus On Color Challenge.

This time we are focusing on Easter Colors.  You know, all the fun PASTELS.  I love working with Pastels, even when it's in the middle of Winter.  Because it allows my mind to drift off to thinking of Spring time.

I'm sure you all have those Easter photos you took.  Possibly of your children all decked out for church in their new suits & dresses.  Or maybe you have photos of those fun Easter egg hunts.  Well it's time to upload those and scrap them with this challenge.  We cannot wait to see what you come up with.

Our incredible creative team came up with a little inspiration for you below.

Easter Hybrid Challenge

Happy Easter!!! Got yourself some gorgeous photos today? Love them? Well, why not create a keepsake to cherish those memories?! Preferably something real, palpable! Our first hybrid challenge requires you to do just that: create a mini accordion album with your favourite Easter memories.

Here is a little step by step to get you started:

1. Create six digital pages. Keep in mind you will print them in small size, so increase the font; and take consideration of what "real" embellishments you are going to add and save space for it.
Easter

2. Print your 6 pages in 4X4 size, it fits 6 in one A4 sheet. Get a sheet of 12X12 cardstock and cut a 4X12 strip. Also cut all your pages to size.
Easterbunny1

3. Fold you paper into 3 sections. If you have a scoring tool, it is best to score your paper every 4 inches. Or else you can just fold it by hand.
Easterbunny2

4. Adhere your pages with double sided tape or glue (easy on the glue!)
Easterbunny3 Easterbunny4

5. Add embellishments. I found these cute Easter themed buttons by Doodlebug. I also like to add floss to my buttons, but not all of them.

Voila! You have your little keepsake!

HERE are 6 free 4X4 templates of the pages above. These templates are rather wonky and tattered, not for the clean style fan :) Please, you are NOT required to use these templates for the challenge, this is just a little help for those that don't know where to start. Feel free to be creative with the design, for example, full page photos look great on 4X4 books and are super easy to set up.

Here is what our dream girls came up with:

Hybrid Easter Minibag

Hi everyone, Michelle Filo here with my first post to the blog, I am so excited. I hope you enjoy what I have for you today. It is a minibag you can decorate to give to friends on occasions such as Easter. Here is my example:
Easterbags

Here is the template specially made to help you create your very own mini bag, FREE! (psd file only, but you can easly create a png from the jpg included)
Create your bag digitally from the template. Print it out to the size you want, cut it, score on the white marks, fold it, and attach using double sided tape. You can finish punching a hole to tie it shut with a ribbon. Easy Peasy!

Post your creations to our new Hybrid gallery; we would love to see what you come up with.
Happy Scrapping!

Weekend Premiere

This weekend I thought we would pay some attention to a grungy boy kit with a lot of character!  And, Jackie Eckles has some amazing kits that fit that bill.  Take a look at her . . .
Sandlot Papers
_jhe_sandlotpp_pvI just love the added texture and depth that she puts into her papers!  There's just so much flavor there.  She also created a coordinating alpha and number pack to go along with these papers.  You will find all three items discounted in the shoppe for the next few days!  So enjoy!

Our Weekend Premiere wouldn't be complete without some inspiring pages from the Dream Girls!  So, take a look. . .
