Focus on Color Challenge + a contest!!

As I'm looking out the window right now it is snowing. I can barely see across the street! So this week's Focus on Color Challenge is very fitting. You guessed it, we are focusing on white!! I love the clean, sophisticated look of an almost all white layout. And adding just a few accent colors can really make your photos and page pop!

Here's some inspiration:

Scrap A Moment - The funny things kids say!

Have you ever noticed that kids have their own ideas of what a common household item should be called?

I have three boys and each of them have had different names for a fork. Yes, a fork. My oldest at the age of 2 called it a "spoon castle". My middle boy who is now 5, still calls it a "spork" and my youngest at 2, called it a "tray". I think that had something to do with me putting him in his high chair and then saying, "I will go get your tray." Then, I'd come back with his tray, plate and fork! LOL! I need to find the right pictures to scrap because these are the everyday moments I want my kids to remember!

I am in the midst of trying to potty train my youngest. On Thanksgiving, he made "Thanksgiving poopies"...and on Christmas, he proudly ran into the living room to tell me he made "Christmas poopies". Yes, I had to scrap that! Also, check out what the other Dream Girls scrapped!

Hybrid Challenge

This months hybrid challenge is to create a layout using digital papers and real paint. Well, I've never created a hybrid layout before, so this was a real challenge for me. I began with printing some papers and photos onto white cardstock, grabbed my box of limited traditional supplies and sat down at the table. Then I just sat there and stared at it all, LOL.  But I finally got moving and even if I'm unsure of what I've accomplished, I am happy to announce that my daughter thinks it's very cool!

So, let's get started, and if you've never created a hybrid layout before, please give it a shot.  You don't need to have a room full of supplies to create a hybrid layout for this challenge, just a little craft paint and either a paint brush or sponge. And maybe some glue and scissors, LOL.

Check out the pages that Suzy and I created for this challenge.

Weekend Premiere

Welcome to another Weekend Premiere!  We are definitely in the thick of a cold winter here in Utah.  I think we've had more snow this year than we have in the past 7 years combined!  Good thing my kids never tire of playing in the snow!

December Blog Challenge Winners!

I've had a great time looking through the challenge gallery for the month of December!  For me, it's a really hard time to scrap with all of the holiday parties and gatherings, but all of you have surprised me with some fabulous pages.  Nice work!

Our first winner completed a page for the Crazy Challenge: Lots of photos!  Rgimusa filled her entire page with wonderful photos and memories of a vacation.  What a great way to capture the fun moments together all on one page!

Our next challenge winner is luna25 and she completed a page for our Scrap a Moment: Christmas Morning challenge.  She did a great job capturing the excitement of the holiday with her cluster of photos and added touches of color that matched the photos.

Our journaling prompt for December was "All I want for Christmas". . .and joray put together a page about receiving a new camera, but not being able to open it until the 25th!  How hard would that be?!  Here's her fun page. . .

Crazy Challenge -- Fill It With Hearts

When I was younger, I scribbled hearts on everything -- tall thin hearts, short rounded hearts, hearts with arrows, hearts with initials, hearts with arrows AND initials...If it wasn't moving, chances are I'd try to decorate it with hearts.

Take a cue from my younger self for this week's challenge and create a layout that's filled with hearts. That's right -- we want you to go crazy with it! Not just one or two -- we're talking tons of hearts, of all shapes and sizes! A quick search through the Little Dreamer Designs shop will reveal just how many amazing heart designs you've got to choose from, but who says you have to choose? In this case, the more the merrier!

Check out what some of our design team girls did with this challenge, and then show us what you've got!
