Focus on Color - Pink and Red

Hi Everyone,
today's Challenge is for all the girls out there. I am not a "girly girl" myself but living with a little Princess turned pretty much everything in our house in every shade of pink there is.
For my page I opened every paper and element that was slightly red or pink in my folders and came up with this:

Scrap-a-Moment: High School Days

Remember how intense everything was when we were in high school? I think this was true also of our friendships during that time.  In fact, my friendships were so important to me that I couldn't imagine not being best friends with them until the day I died.  Well, that just wasn't the case, but it doesn't mean that my memories of my girlfriends are any less important to me because we drifted apart.  So my challenge to you today, is to scrap about the friendships you had (or your children have) during the high school years.   No matter how the friendships ended, or if they did indeed last, these are some of the memories that we will always treasure. The carefree fun of hanging out with your best friends on a Friday night, going to concerts or football games, laughing till your sides ache and flirting with the waiters at your favorite restaurant. Years that I certainly wouldn't want to repeat, but also memories that I wouldn't want to forget.

Here are a couple of pages to give you some inspiration.

Hybrid Challenge - Decorate a Journal Cover or Blocks

Hi everyone, Suzy here!!  This is my first time posting on the LDD blog, and I am so excited to bring you this weeks challenge - to decorate a journal cover or blocks. I have been wanting to experiment with hybrid projects quite a bit lately, so it was fun to get out some of my paper scrapping supplies and actually get something finished.

I decided to do a photo cube for my project. I am planning to do 2 more cubes for my daughters to have in their room, but at this stage this is the only one I have finished.

Photocube

I used papers from Michelle Coleman's Orange Berry Fizz, All You Need is Love and Color my World.

In addition to the digital papers I printed off, the cube is from Making Memories, as are the defined stickers. Most of the flowers are by Prima. I also used buttons, pearls and ribbons by various manufacturers.

Here are some other examples of projects you can try at home:

Art Journal by Ginger

Artjournalsweb

Ginger made these little art journals for her kids. She keeps them in her diaper bag for those moments the kids need something to do! She bought these 3 1/2 by 4 1/2 composition notebooks at the dollar store, made her own layouts and printed them at home. Then adhered them with a sticky tape roller and embellished with ribbon! Click on the link above for her credits.

Alphabet Blocks by Jody

Hybridchallenge_blocks

Jodie used Michelle Coleman's Sweet Baby Paper Pack to make these 2"x2" blocks for her DD Kaitlyn. She used Modge Podge to adhere the paper, then put on the sticker letters and sanded the edges a bit.

Arent they fabulous? I am excited to see what you all come up with for this challenge. Hybrid scrapping is becoming more and more popular, so if you have never tried it before, I would definitely recommend you give this challenge a try and find out how much fun it can be. Dont forget to post your Layouts in the Challenge Gallery.

Leora created this fabulous freebie to share, too- enjoy!

Before I go I would like to wish all our friends in USA a happy Thanksgiving - I hope you all have a fabulous day!! See you all again soon:)

Home for the holidays?

Hi all!  Amy M. here with the latest blog ditty.  Are you getting your home ready for any holiday visitors or are you heading out to visit folks?  Our family has friends coming this weekend and family coming next week, so I've been a busy bee getting everything set to rights as much as possible...  I'm trying to get the laundry done, the deep cleaning (like floors and bathrooms) finished, the guest rooms ready and the pantry semi-stocked for visitors.

This newest Little Dreamer challenge is all about photos and all about your home.  The challenge is to scrap a photo or photos of your home.  You can scrap a photo of the front of your house, your favorite room, your scrap area, a piece of furniture, anything that has anything to do with your home.  Here's a layout I did for the challenge...

Let's get Crazy Challenge

For our challenge this week we thought let's get a little crazy! OK, so not really too crazy but let's start to think outside of the box a little bit. What can we do to our photos, elements and over all layouts to make them stand out or pop out a little bit more?

When I started to think about this challenge and the phrase "Outside of the Box" that is exactly what I did. I made my photo come outside of itself just a bit to add some depth to my page. I just erased a portion of the photo and was left with this.

Lollipop by Jody Knapp

In  this out of a box challenge Ranie tried to use bold colors and elements and blended two different background papers with different brushes to make a unique design. She also used text in a path coming from the bird.

So what does this mean to you? I am excited to see some interesting things from you and hopefully this challenge will get you to push yourself a little bit and have some fun! Dont forget to post your Layouts in the Challenge Gallery.

Journaling Starter - Blog Challenge

Ok everyone ... now THIS may be a challenge for most.  At least it was for me.  It's a Journaling Challenge where you make a list of what you dream of doing, or will do someday

I thought about making little tags and literally listing each thing I dream of doing, but felt really writing out my dreams was more for me.  I wanted to give my family something to read that told a little about what dreams their wife, mommy, daughter, sister, friend had .....  maybe one of you would like to use the paper strip idea for your dreams.  Really, with journaling, the options are endless.  It's truly a personal choice for what detail you put into your journaling.  I personally find that, outside of your pictures, the journaling is the most important part of your layouts.  It's what takes you back to those thoughts, those special moments, etc.  So in journaling, it really makes you take a step back and think about how to make it memorable for years later.

Below you will see what some of our Dream Team came up with for this challenge.

Ok....so let's see what your DREAMS are.
