Color Challenge - Focusing on Green

Our Color Challenge this time is GREEN!  I just love this color!  It's definitely a favorite!
The challenge is to do a layout using only shades of green.  I thought the challenge would be difficult trying to stick with one color but I was actually surprised at how quickly I was able to put something together and it really turn out great.  What helps is choosing a photo that is mostly the color you want to work with and using a Color Pop Action to really make the Green stand out...then finding all sorts of fun papers and elements to accent it really well.

Below you will see what some of the Dream Team came up with that will hopefully inspire you to take on this challenge.

Hybrid Challenge: Package Toppers for Treats

Question: are you ready to get your sweet-tooth on? I am because it’s almost time for Halloween! The jack-o-lanterns are being lit, the costumes and make-up are being prepared and we’re keeping an eye on the weather to see how good, or bad, trick-or-treat night might be. And did I mention the candy yet? Good times!

This week, our challenge is to create a package topper for those tasty treats using digital goodies. Embellish them however you wish but don’t forget to add the snacks!

Here are a few hybrid projects from our ‘sweet’ creative team. And Leora Sanford whipped up a cool new freebie to share; it’s our treat to you!

Don’t forget to post your projects in our Challenge Gallery. We can't wait to see what you dream up!

Focus on Photos: Scenic Views

This time of year always makes me want to head outside with my camera in hand to see what kind of natural beauty I can capture on film. There's something about the warm golden light and the ever-changing elements of nature in the fall that really inspires me. At times I get so caught in capturing all the tiny details and textures that I forget to step back and take a look at the big picture as well. Seems that life follows this same pattern, and fall is the time when I really find myself reevaluating after a busy summer season.

For this week's challenge, we're urging you to show us your best scenic photos. We want to see those breathtaking vistas, rural or urban. Make sure to post them to the gallery and then link them up here.

To get you started, here are a few layouts from our fantastic creative team.

Scrappin' the Nouns goes Famous!!

Ever dreamed to live the life of someone famous? I can honestly say I have been star struck many times. A favorite time of year for me as a teenager was when Sundance Film Festival came to Park City Utah. My friends and I would don our sunglasses and the greatest imitation designer clothing and head up to the festival to "mingle" wit the stars. I did see a few familiar faces, but I was always too nervous to get up close and talk to them.
Who are the legendary people that you go "ga-ga" for? This week’s challenge is to design a layout with  a favorite famous face that you love. Tiffany Tillman (scrapper extraordinaire...and new to our creative team) and I have given you a couple examples.

Good luck,
Rebecca

PS And don’t forget to post them to the Challenge Gallery.

I remember...

Amy M. here with the latest blog challenge!  Who's up for a journaling challenge?  This one is a good one - it opens up a lot of possibilities with this starting point.  The challenge is to use the phrase, "I remember..." to get it going.  This can help to kick start a vintage layout with old photos of grandparents, an early childhood layout of yourself, or even a layout remembering some "good old days..."

Here's one take on the challenge using some of Jackie's and Lisa's new goodies in the shop. (credits here)...

Hope you enjoy this freebie that Jackie put together especially for this challenge.  Don't forget to post your layouts to the Challenge Gallery so we can all enjoy your take on this one!
