Hello dreamers! TGIF right? :) Look at what we have to show you this Friday:
When I saw these birthday cards by our dream girl Kristin(RuthsKris) I have to say I was so impressed! It is so tactile and creative, it must be a feast for any little hand! Here is what she had to say about her project:
Since a 2 and 4 year old are not exactly ready and able to read a birthday card, I decided to put together a bright and tactile "tagcard" to attach to their birthday gifts this year.
Got a spare piece of cardboard lying around? I dug through my recycling bin and grabbed a thinner piece of corrugated cardboard and started cutting around.
-The back layer is a square with rounded corners, then I tore away some of the lop layer around the edges I doodled a bit around the outside edge with a Marvy marker.
-The red and striped layers, as well as the candle and tag art are from a LDD blog freebie made by Lisa Sisneros. I glued the red layer down to the cardboard with a glue stick.
-Some quick hand stitched wonky zig zags went on the striped layer, then I glued it down with tacky glue.
-For the name label, I took more of the cardboard and stripped the front and back off to leave just the corrugated part. I printed the tags with "Jump Start" font (free at dafont.com) and glued the tag to the corrugated layer. Then I glued that all down with tacky glue.
-For the candles, I fringed up some yellow felt bits and stapled the candles to them (enough candles for each child's age, of course!) Then I glued these down with lots of tacky glue.
-Next, a few real buttons along the bottom. These were adhered with Zots, small and medium.
-Finally, a few hole punches in the corner for some raffia, and a little handwritten greeting.
there you have it!
Isn't it just awesome?
You got to check this girl's gallery too, it is full of hybrid goodness. Have a great weekend!
